Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited ("AsiaSat", "we" or "us", and collectively with the Company’s affiliates including Asia Satellite Telecommunications Holdings Limited, the "Group") is committed to protecting your privacy.

This Privacy Policy sets out how AsiaSat, as a data controller, may collect, process, use and share information, particularly in association with the operation of our websites, mobile applications, and HTML-formatted emails that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively known as "Digital Services"). 

This Privacy Policy explains our information practices in relation to personal information and may change from time to time, so please check it periodically. 

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA AND THE PURPOSE

When using our Digital Services, you are under no obligation to provide any personal data, however, you are given the option of contacting us online, either via email or by filling in a contact form with your personal data therein, including but not limited to, your name, job title, company, email address, country of residence, telephone number or email address. You are also required to provide the aforementioned personal data when downloading our whitepaper or documents in our Digital Services.

We may, for legitimate business interest, collect and use your personal data to handle your enquiries, provide you with services, to bill you for services you request, to market services which we think may be of interest to you, to operate, troubleshoot, and improve the Digital Services, to maintain our list of contacts for customers, to evaluate, recruit, and hire personnel, or to communicate with you for other purposes which are evident from the circumstances or about which we inform you when we collect personal data from you.

PERSONAL DATA USED FOR ANALYTICS

When browsing our websites, your IP address (the unique address that identifies your computer on the internet), country and type of browser/operating system may be logged by our web server. IP address information is used to allow us to compile general statistics and broad demographic information about our websites, such as the daily number of visitors to our websites. Such general statistics may be shared with our affiliates or subsidiaries and our website service providers, which will be used to improve our websites and services.

Our websites may use cookies and other tracking technology to retrieve information about a visitor to our websites in accordance with our ePrivacy Policy. Cookies collected (if any) may be used by AsiaSat to compile general statistics about the number of visitors to our site or to improve and update our websites, and such information may be shared with our affiliates or subsidiaries and website service provider for the purposes of improving our services to you. If you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to fully experience all functions or access all content of our websites.

When using our mobile applications, your precise location information, device ID, and user device ID may be collected with your permission in accordance with our ePrivacy Policy. We use this information to provide you with content based on your location.

PROTECTION AND TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA

Your personal data will be kept strictly confidential in accordance with this Privacy Policy and will not be disclosed by us to anyone outside of the Group, except as provided herein. 

We deploy data network protection system and administrative safeguards, including industry standard firewall and password protection, obtaining written assurances from third parties that may access your personal data that they will protect the personal data with safeguards designed to provide a level of protection equivalent to that adopted by us, measures reasonably designed to protect information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosures, alternation or destruction and against other unlawful forms of processing. However, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and any such transmission is therefore done at your own risk.

The Digital Services are controlled and operated by AsiaSat in Hong Kong, and Digital Services providers. We may store the information using data storage service, where these data storage service providers have expressly agreed not to sell, share or otherwise distribute your personal data without your express consent, and will exercise the same degree of care in protecting your personal data as we are. We or the aforementioned data storage service providers may transfer information to countries outside of your country of residence, which may have data protection laws and regulations that differ from those in your country. Any transfers of information from the EU to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) will normally be made on the basis of the model clauses approved by the European Commission for transfers from EU controllers to non-EU controllers.

We may also share your personal data to the following parties:  
  • Our other third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as web-hosting companies, mailing vendors, analytics providers, event hosting services, and information technology providers; and
  • Government or other authorities of competent jurisdiction (within or outside the jurisdiction in which you reside), where we may take reasonable efforts to notify you before disclosure as permitted by the relevant law or order.

We will erase or de-identify your personal information when they are no longer needed for any of the purposes for which we collect the information and to comply with our legal obligation.

Whenever we process personal data, we take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is kept accurate and up-to-date for the purposes for which it was collected. We provide you with rights as permitted by the laws to ascertain whether AsiaSat holds your personal data, access such data (if any) and obtain copies, and/or modify, correct any inaccuracies in the personal information held by AsiaSat about you at any time and request AsiaSat to cease to use or even erase your personal data at any point without charge. You can also opt-out subsequently from receiving direct marketing materials from us at any time. Our Digital Services may contain links to other websites or include integrated content provided by third parties, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Youtube. Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited ("AsiaSat", "we" or "us", and collectively with the Company’s affiliates including Asia Satellite Telecommunications Holdings Limited, the "Group") uses cookies and common online tracking technologies on our websites and mobile applications (collectively known as "Digital Services"), including web browser cookies, IP address, device ID, Scripts, web beacons, Gifs, Pixels, Page Tags, Google Analytics and similar technologies ("Tracking Technologies") for the purposes set out below.

WHAT ARE COOKIE AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES? 

Cookies are data files stored on your browser that indicates the domain name of the user, user device ID, your internet service provider, your operating system, and the date and time of access. Web browser cookies may store information such as your IP address or other identifier, your browser type, and information about the content you view and interact with on the Digital Services.
