During a recent visit to SSL, William Wade, President & CEO of AsiaSat witnessed the latest development of AsiaSat 9, with the communication panels near completion.
On the other integration area , the bus module integration and the associated testing were completed. The module has been moved to the spacecraft integration building, in which a larger handling dolly for receiving the communication panels.
The good momentum for the AsiaSat 9 development was also in resonance here in Hong Kong, AsiaSat's headquarters. The 3rd Launch Vehicle Technical Interface Meeting took place at AsiaSat Tai Po earth station in March. Representatives from the Proton launch vehicle provider (Khrunichev and ILS) and satellite manufacturer (SSL) participated. The meeting was concluded successfully with the signature of satellite and launch vehicle interface document (ICD).
