Senior Vice President
Overview:
Reporting to the CEO and the Chief Commercial Officer to spearhead commercial opportunities for the International Sales team and business development. The candidate will have in-depth knowledge and industry experience in the satellite industry and media business. He/She will have group/individual sales targets and closely work with internal departments to ensure successful closing of the sales opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee International Sales team with focus in defining strategy, planning and delivery of company’s group wide strategic initiatives
- Accountable for company’s revenue goals. Management of sales pipelines to allow accurate forecasting of our existing solutions and services
- Spearhead business activities and responsible to formulate overall strategy and initiatives within AsiaSat
- Identify potential new business, potential acquisition targets, negotiate with partners, forming JVs if appropriate, and lead effort in building business plan taking in account of the necessary licences and permissions
- Manage project team internally with sales, technical and finance department, and external resources to work effectively
- Present and submit proposals and recommendations to the Management Team on acquisitions and new businesses
- Management of subsidiaries to ensure smooth transitions, revenue growth and profitability under our transformation initiatives
- Keep abreast of market trends, regulatory regime, technology innovation, new commercial products, competitors’ solutions development in order to access market environment and market potential for partnership and investment opportunities in media business.
- Lead activities for ad hoc projects that are being identified from the management team of AsiaSat
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline, Master degree preferred
- Minimum 20 years in the satellite industry with 10 years of customer management or business development experience
- Good knowledge in the telecoms, media and satellite industry is a must
- Strong understanding of satellite, technology trends and media business to enable the ability to identify and predict customer needs and demands and execute action plans to deliver the results
- A strong team player able to work with various team members in Management and support staff
- Ability to provide sector-focused advice on the sale process from strategic positioning to completion
- Able to analyze acquisition targets, familiar with JV structures and operation in global market
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English with good presentation skills. Proficiency in Chinese will be an added advantage
- Ability to operate within a high pressure environment under tight deadlines
- High level of personal integrity, and adhere to a strict company code of conduct
- Extensive travel is required

Spectrum Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business development teams to perform frequency assignments for immediate business, and plans for satellite orbital slots and frequency spectrums expansion in the future.
- Develops and maintains customer frequency assignment databases.
- Resolves adjacent satellite interference with other satellite operators.
- Participates in frequency coordination negotiations with other satellite operators, local government and other countries telecom administrations.
- Monitor ITU submissions to ensure timely interventions to those submissions may interfere with AsiaSat’s own assignments and network filings.
- Ensures coordination limits are not exceeded by AsiaSat users.
Requirements:
- Degree in engineering, science or technology related discipline.
- Good communication skill in both English and Chinese.
- Overseas travelling is required.
- Fresh graduates will be considered as Trainee Engineer, Spectrum Management.
