Earth Station Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for operation and maintenance of RF systems and antenna systems
- Responsible for project management of the RF systems and antenna systems
- Responsible for support and maintenance of all earth station baseband equipment, carrier monitoring system, terrestrial equipment and test equipment
- Responsible for support and maintenance of digital video baseband equipment and digital IP satellite communication equipment operation, such as MCPC and iDirect systems
- Responsible for the equipment setup for turnaround service
- Responsible for operation and maintenance of Teleport and Building infrastructure
- Provide and implement traffic failure restoration plans when necessary
- Provide satellite IOT support and traffic uplink & downlink services when necessary
- Provide support to internal and external customers. Occasional travel within the region and to overseas may be required
- Attend emergency call-out, special assignment and typhoon duties when necessary
- Willing and able to work in a rotational shift schedule
Requirements:
- Higher Diploma in Electronic or Communication Engineering or Building Service with minimum 3 years' relevant experience in RF & tracking antenna system operation & maintenance or Building Service maintenance.
- Candidate has less academic background but with more than 3 years' relevant experience will also be considered
- Experienced in digital video baseband equipment and digital IP satellite communication network operation, such as MCPC and iDirect systems, or experienced in M&C and BMS system
- Teleport and Earth Station facilities operation
- Good communication skills, able to work independently under pressure
- Good PC knowledge, IP technology, Microsoft office and Visio drawing
- Good written and spoken English. Fluent Putonghua

Senior Vice President
Overview:
Reporting to the CEO and the Chief Commercial Officer to spearhead commercial opportunities for the International Sales team and business development. The candidate will have in-depth knowledge and industry experience in the satellite industry and media business. He/She will have group/individual sales targets and closely work with internal departments to ensure successful closing of the sales opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee International Sales team with focus in defining strategy, planning and delivery of company’s group wide strategic initiatives
- Accountable for company’s revenue goals. Management of sales pipelines to allow accurate forecasting of our existing solutions and services
- Spearhead business activities and responsible to formulate overall strategy and initiatives within AsiaSat
- Identify potential new business, potential acquisition targets, negotiate with partners, forming JVs if appropriate, and lead effort in building business plan taking in account of the necessary licences and permissions
- Manage project team internally with sales, technical and finance department, and external resources to work effectively
- Present and submit proposals and recommendations to the Management Team on acquisitions and new businesses
- Management of subsidiaries to ensure smooth transitions, revenue growth and profitability under our transformation initiatives
- Keep abreast of market trends, regulatory regime, technology innovation, new commercial products, competitors’ solutions development in order to access market environment and market potential for partnership and investment opportunities in media business.
- Lead activities for ad hoc projects that are being identified from the management team of AsiaSat
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline, Master degree preferred
- Minimum 20 years in the satellite industry with 10 years of customer management or business development experience
- Good knowledge in the telecoms, media and satellite industry is a must
- Strong understanding of satellite, technology trends and media business to enable the ability to identify and predict customer needs and demands and execute action plans to deliver the results
- A strong team player able to work with various team members in Management and support staff
- Ability to provide sector-focused advice on the sale process from strategic positioning to completion
- Able to analyze acquisition targets, familiar with JV structures and operation in global market
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English with good presentation skills. Proficiency in Chinese will be an added advantage
- Ability to operate within a high pressure environment under tight deadlines
- High level of personal integrity, and adhere to a strict company code of conduct
- Extensive travel is required

Vice President, Maritime Sales
Overview:
Reporting to Vice President, Operations and Solutions Engineering will have responsibility for sales of SAILAS maritime satellite communication services and solutions into the maritime shipping customers and partners.
This role will lead all sales activities for SAILAS team. Will identify, qualify and close wide range of maritime VSAT solutions, VAS and professional engineering services. The primary focus will be on acquiring new business, customers and support strategic partnerships and alliances.
The candidate will have in-depth knowledge and industry experience in the maritime community and will be expected to make an immediate impact. He/She will have individual sales targets and closely work with internal departments to ensure successful closing of the sales opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Drive maritime sales, develop and execute the sales plan to acquire new business to achieve the revenue targets
- Lead sales team to meet revenue goals and manage sales pipelines to allow accurate forecasting of our existing solutions and services
- Provide market intelligence feedback. Develop business and product planning to allow the company to have distinct advantages over competition
- Work closely with Product and Solution team in developing and prioritizing new value-added services for the Maritime community
- Work closely with Marketing team in creating greater presence of SAILAS service in the market
- Responsible to manage the business process to ensure smooth and optimized business flow in order to lower transaction cost
- Identify, develop and execute channel or local partner strategy targeting identified region/country
- Present and submit proposals and recommendations to management team and or the Board on partnership, acquisitions and new businesses
- Lead activities for ad hoc projects that are being identified from the management team of AsiaSat
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Information Technology or Business
- In-depth knowledge of the maritime operations and strong network of contacts with ship owners/managers, service providers and equipment vendors in the maritime community
- 15 years’ experience working in a sales role, related to maritime communications and solutions with a demonstrated track record of sales. Experience in management role is a plus.
- Experience in solutions selling of VSAT, L-band and maritime VAS solutions
- Proven ability to understand the complexity of our customer’s business and network requirements to enable to demonstrate AsiaSat’s value in its solutions and products
- Strong understanding of satellite and technology trends to enable the ability to identify and predict customer needs and demands and execute action plans to deliver the results
- A strong team player, ability to motivate and inspire a team to meet and exceed customer expectations
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English. Other additional languages will be an advantage
- High level of personal integrity, and adhere to a strict company code of conduct
